Israeli Forces Detain Palestinians, Demolish Structures in West Bank
(MENAFN) Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians, including two women and two teenagers, during raids across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, while several Palestinian and Bedouin structures were also demolished, according to Palestinian sources.
The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office said Israeli forces conducted raids and searches of homes in several areas, including the provinces of Tulkarem, Hebron, Nablus and Jenin.
Tulkarem saw the largest number of arrests, with 10 Palestinians detained in Tulkarem city, Deir al-Ghusun and Dhanaba. The detainees included two women and relatives of Palestinian prisoners, according to the organization.
In Hebron, two Palestinians aged 15 and 18 were detained after reportedly being held for more than four hours on Al-Ikhwan Street in the southern section of the city.
Three more Palestinians were arrested during raids in Balata al-Balad and Asira al-Shamaliya in Nablus. Another Palestinian from Jenin refugee camp was detained in Burqin, west of Jenin, the statement said.
Separately, Israeli military bulldozers and other heavy machinery demolished structures belonging to a Bedouin community in the western part of Deir Ballut town in Salfit province, according to reports.
The demolitions were reported by the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, which monitors conditions affecting Bedouin communities in the occupied West Bank.
