Embrapa Shows Sustainable Solutions To Tunisians


(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – A delegation from Tunisian government institutions visited the facilities of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa ) Semi-arid in Petrolina, Pernambuco, on Tuesday (15). The visit was part of a technical exchange under the project“Strengthening Climate Resilience through Natural Resource Governance” (ReGnR), implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with Tunisian institutions.

According to information provided by Embrapa, the Tunisian delegation was introduced to technologies developed or adapted by the Brazilian institution for managing natural resources in the semi-arid region, an area of Brazil characterized by a dry climate and water scarcity.

The examples presented included rainwater harvesting and storage, cactus pear cultivation systems, and agroecological soil and water management. According to Embrapa, the visit helped strengthen cooperation and opened prospects for further technical exchanges.
