Cairo Calls For Full Israeli Withdrawal From Lebanese Territory
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty made the remarks during a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam that covered developments in Lebanon and wider regional tensions, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo's support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and called for the full implementation of Resolution 1701 without selective application.
He also reiterated Egypt's support for Lebanese state institutions, particularly the army, to enable the government to exercise its authority across the country.
The two officials discussed efforts to ease regional tensions, as well as the impact of developments in the Red Sea on maritime security, international trade, and energy supplies.
Abdelatty said Egypt was continuing its diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from widening and spare the region further instability.
