Egypt, China's CEC Explore Energy, Advanced Technology Cooperation
Gomblat held talks with a delegation from CEC headed by Li Ligong, during which the two sides reviewed opportunities for cooperation in a number of technological and industrial fields, including digital technologies, advanced radars and electronics.
The meeting also addressed potential cooperation with Benha Electronics Company and Military Factory 144, with the two sides discussing ways to localise advanced technologies, exchange expertise and knowledge, and develop the technical capabilities of personnel working in relevant fields.
Gomblat highlighted the Ministry of Military Production's keenness to expand cooperation with leading international companies and benefit from their technological expertise, particularly in advanced and strategic industries. He noted that such cooperation could contribute to supporting localisation efforts and strengthening Egypt's industrial and technological capabilities.
The CEC delegation expressed interest in exploring opportunities for joint projects in Egypt, particularly in electronics, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, fibre optics and other advanced technology fields.
The two sides agreed to continue discussions and identify priority areas for cooperation, while exploring potential joint projects that could serve the interests of both sides. The Chinese delegation also invited a delegation from the Ministry of Military Production to visit CEC to review its capabilities and discuss potential areas of cooperation in greater detail.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between Egypt and China and expand practical cooperation in areas including manufacturing, renewable energy, digital transformation and advanced technologies.
The discussions also reflect the two countries' broader efforts to translate their strong political relations into concrete economic and industrial partnerships that support technology transfer, localisation and the development of new investment and manufacturing opportunities.
