Jessica Turner
- Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering, University of Waikato
Jessica is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato's Tauranga campus, leading Au Reikura School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences' programmes in the Bay of Plenty. Her research explores how technology can make life easier and safer. She works on engineering interactive systems such as medical devices, the internet of things, social robots and embodied AI, always with a focus on human-centred design. Jessica's work is driven by the idea that technology should serve people, reflective of the University's motto "Ko Te Tangata", and she focuses on designing solutions that meet users needs. Her projects highlight the value of having a university campus in Tauranga, demonstrating how research and tertiary education can deliver real benefits to communities.
