Russia's Syzran And Saratov Oil Refineries Halt Operations After Drone Attacks - Reuters
According to the agency's sources, the Syzran refinery halted operations on Tuesday, while the Saratov refinery stopped processing oil last Friday.
Several facilities at the Syzran refinery were damaged in the drone attack, including its main AVT-6 crude oil distillation unit, with a capacity of 17,100 metric tonnes per day. The unit accounts for about 71% of the refinery's total processing capacity, the sources said.
According to the sources, repairs at the refinery could take at least a month.

At the time of the September 15 attack, it was already undergoing repairs following an earlier drone attack in July.
The Saratov refinery halted oil processing on September 11 following another drone strike. According to Reuters sources, the refinery had also suspended operations on September 8 due to equipment damage and fires caused by a previous UAV attack. It had been preparing to resume oil processing on September 10–11.
The Saratov refinery had previously suspended operations for several weeks following a drone attack on August 2.
The Syzran oil refinery is located in Russia's Samara Region and has a nominal crude oil processing capacity of 8.5 million tonnes per year (150,000 barrels per day).
The Saratov oil refinery has a processing capacity of 7 million metric tonnes per year (140,000 barrels per day).
According to industry sources, in 2024 the Syzran refinery processed 4.3 million tonnes of crude oil and produced 0.8 million tonnes of gasoline, as well as 1.5 million tonnes of diesel fuel and 0.7 million tonnes of fuel oil.
According to industry sources, the Saratov refinery processed 5.8 million tonnes of crude oil in 2024, producing 1.2 million tonnes of gasoline, 1.9 million tonnes of diesel fuel and 1 million tonnes of fuel oil.
As Ukrinform reported, following a drone attack on September 6, the Rosneft-owned Ryazan oil refinery also halted operations.
