Russia Threatens Europe With A“Very Short War” If Western Troops Are Deployed In Ukraine - CCD

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrinform reports this, citing the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, in a Telegram post.

“Russia has once again intensified its aggressive rhetoric toward Ukraine's European partners, resorting to ultimatums and blatant threats of military confrontation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the possible deployment of Western forces in Ukraine would constitute a 'declaration of war' against Russia. He also threatened Europe with a 'very short war' if 'Europe attacks Russia,'” the statement said.

According to the CCD, the Kremlin chose the“International Youth Festival” in Yekaterinburg, which brought together many foreign guests, as the venue for another round of threats and intimidation.

In his speech, Lavrov employed a classic mirror-propaganda tactic: against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine and its constant provocations against European states, he began talking about the“threat of an attack by Europe.”

Through such manipulation, Moscow is attempting to shift responsibility for the escalation onto Western governments and justify its own aggressive actions. The propaganda is aimed both at Russia's domestic audience and at foreigners. The Kremlin's aggressive rhetoric once again demonstrates that Russia is not seeking ways to achieve peace but is using every public platform to blackmail the international community, the CCD said.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha responded to another propaganda statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the alleged need to eradicate“Nazism in Europe.” In particular, he stressed that achieving this goal would require a special military operation in the European part of Russia.
