The Republic Of Cabo Verde Signs Its First Country Programme Framework (CPF) For 2026-2031

Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, and HE Ms Clara Manuela da Luz Delgado Jesus, Resident Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cabo Verde to the IAEA, signed The Republic of Cabo Verde's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2026–2031 on 16 September 2026.

A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

The Republic of Cabo Verde has been an IAEA Member State since 2023. Its 2026–2031 CPF identifies 4 priority areas:

  • Nuclear and radiation safety and nuclear security
  • Food and agriculture
  • Human health
