Ghana: Finance Minister Receives International Finance Corporation (IFC) Managing Director Makhtar Diop

The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has received the Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Makhtar Diop, at the Ministry for discussions on Ghana's economic progress and plans to promote private-sector-led growth.

The meeting focused on the Government's next phase of economic transformation, with particular emphasis on commercial agriculture, value addition and job creation.

Dr Forson identified sugar, cocoa processing, palm oil and poultry as priority areas requiring increased private-sector investment. He also highlighted Ghana's ambition to become the pharmaceutical hub of West Africa.

On his part, Mr Diop commended Ghana's recent economic progress, particularly the reduction in inflation, and assured the Minister of the IFC's continued support for the country's development agenda.
