Sharjah Cyber Security Center Highlights Emirate-Wide Approach To Cyber Readiness At GISEC Global 2026

Sharjah, September 2026: The Sharjah Cyber Security Center SCSC, a subsidiary of the Sharjah Digital Department SDD, is making its first appearance at the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference“GISEC Global 2026”. SCSC is showcasing the Sharjah Cyber Security Strategy 2026–2031 alongside a portfolio of projects that support the emirate's approach to developing an integral cyber security ecosystem, while enhancing the protection of systems, data and digital infrastructure. The very first participation in GISEC is an opportunity to strengthen Sharjah's profile within the regional and international cyber security community. SCSC will be engaging with government entities, cyber security organisations and technology providers from the region and beyond to exchange expertise on emerging technologies and solutions. It will also explore new partnerships that can support the continued development of Sharjah's cyber security ecosystem. H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of SDD, said:“Cyber security is fundamental to building a trusted digital government that can keep pace with the rapid evolution of services, data and technology. In Sharjah, we view it as a strategic priority that supports sustainable digital transformation. It supports stronger coordination and greater resilience across the Emirate. Our participation at GISEC gives us an important opportunity to engage with the wider cyber security community, benefit from international expertise and explore technologies that can support Sharjah's future readiness.” Participation highlights Sharjah's progress from strategic planning to implementation, with practical capabilities and initiatives being developed across the emirate. This approach strengthens coordination and integration among government entities. It supports unified cyber security governance, and contributes to building a secure, resilient digital environment equipped to respond to evolving risks and future challenges. On the first day, SCSC signed off two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs); one with PricewaterhouseCoopers Limited Partnership (PwC), and the other with Deloitte & Touche Middle East. The MoUs aim to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange in cyber security, while supporting capability development and joint initiatives that contribute to advancing Sharjah's cyber security ecosystem. At GISEC Global 2026, the SCSC is presenting a plethora of projects and initiatives that demonstrate how strategic priorities are being translated into practical capabilities for government entities. Those include guides and supporting tools to ensure data security, cyber security awareness initiatives that seek to raise awareness and promote a more informed cyber security culture across the Emirate. Eng. Abdelnasir Bukhatir, Director of Sharjah Cyber Security Center, said:“Our focus is on building an interconnected cyber security ecosystem that strengthens coordination and readiness across Sharjah. Our work covers threat monitoring and incident response, as well as compliance support and cyber security awareness. It also enables us to forge strategic relationships that can support the continued development of Sharjah's long-term cyber security capabilities and readiness.” As part of its participation programme, SCSC is hosting a series of workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions in collaboration with strategic technology partners.
