Dr Thendo Mutshekwa is a Production Scientist at Albany Museum, with an academic and research background in aquatic ecology, freshwater ecosystems, environmental science and biodiversity conservation. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Venda and has research experience spanning freshwater ecology, microplastic pollution, aquatic biodiversity, environmental pollution and ecosystem health. His work combines field and laboratory research with biodiversity assessment, environmental monitoring, data analysis, student supervision and scientific communication. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals, presented research at national and international conferences, and contributed to collaborative research projects focused on freshwater biodiversity and emerging environmental contaminants.
