Russian Attack On Yahodyn: SBGS Says Belarus Is Once Again Activating Relay Stations

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Andrii Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

“As of now, Belarus is actively assisting Russia in shelling Ukrainian territory. This includes relay stations activated on Belarusian territory that amplify the signal for Russian 'Shahed' and 'Gerber' drones, which, in fact, after entering from Russian territory, then remain near the border with Belarus in order to receive this signal and be able to penetrate deeper into Ukrainian territory, particularly into the western regions: Rivne, Volyn, and Lviv. And the attack, for example, in the direction of the“Yahodyn” border crossing was also carried out with Belarus's support,” Demchenko noted.

He noted that earlier, when Belarus received a warning from the President of Ukraine regarding the inadmissibility of actions supporting Russia-specifically through operational repeaters that amplify the signal-the Belarusians had turned them off.

“Now they have turned them back on,” said the State Border Guard Service spokesperson.

He reported that although the Belarusian sector remains a threat,“there is currently no buildup of any strike force that would be positioned near our border and ready to carry out an invasion.”

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that as of June 22, the relay stations on Belarusian territory-which were used to guide Russian strikes against Ukrainian territory-had ceased operations.

On June 19, the President of Ukraine gave Belarus one wee to dismantle these facilities on its own; if this is not done, Ukraine may take appropriate action.
