Drone Shot Down Over Lithuania Identified As Russian Gerbera
"Based on the information currently available, it was a Gerbera-type drone," he told journalists after a meeting of Lithuania's National Defence Council.
Nausėda said the incident was most likely not a deliberate attack against Lithuania.
"Most likely, it was a Russian drone intended for Ukraine that was diverted from its course by Ukrainian electronic warfare measures and entered our territory, where it was shot down," the president said.

"Vilnius is close to the border, and, undoubtedly, once we identify and detect them, we could and should have the means to destroy drones or other flying objects," Nausėda stressed.
He added that Lithuania also needs alternative methods for shooting down drones, as using fighter jets is not an effective solution.
As Ukrinform reported, the drone shot down by NATO Air Policing Mission aircraft near the Lithuanian village of Pratkunai in the Kaišiadorys District on Tuesday had entered Lithuania from the direction of Belarus.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said Lithuania would deliver a protest note to Belarus and consult with its allies over the drone incident that occurred in the country overnight Tuesday.
