Government Proposes 11.9% Increase In Defense Spending In 2027
In particular, expenditures on personnel salaries are set to increase by UAH 337.5 billion to UAH 1 trillion 791.7 billion, while spending on weapons and military equipment will rise by UAH 1.4 billion to UAH 2 trillion 298.5 billion. The draft provides UAH 30 billion to cover state guarantees for weapons and military equipment and UAH 264.9 billion for a reserve fund.
Roksolana Pidlasa, chair of the Verkhovna Rada's Budget Committee, noted on Facebook that security and defense account for 66.8% of all expenditures in the draft 2027 State Budget.

As reported, the draft State Budget for 2027 provides for an 8.7% increase in revenues to UAH 5.6 trillion and a 13.5% increase in expenditures to UAH 7.3 trillion. The need for international assistance is estimated at $52.6 billion.
