Azerbaijan's Azerkimya Targets Over 85% Capacity Utilization In 2026
This was announced during a media tour of SOCAR's Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant, held as part of the "September 20 – Oil Workers' Day".
The information noted that the enterprise utilized 86% of its production capacity in 2025.
According to the information, Azerkimya PU is also implementing a number of environmental projects. One of the enterprise's key objectives is capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted into the atmosphere during the production process and utilizing it as a raw material. Plans are in place to direct the captured CO2 to the urea plant, which requires this feedstock.
During the media tour, it was noted that under normal operating conditions, only gases essential for process safety are flared in the flare system. Atmospheric gas emissions are monitored via specialized systems.
The information also pointed out that inert purge gases released during technological processes at SOCAR Polymer's polypropylene and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) units are being recovered for reuse.
Specifically, these gases are routed back to production through a 4-kilometer-long pipeline connecting Azerkimya and SOCAR Polymer.
According to the information, the enterprise's sales and marketing activities are managed by SOCAR's Marketing and Economic Operations Department, with product prices determined by global market conditions and demand.
