Prince Harry, Meghan Switch Children's School Over Security Concerns

(MENAFN) The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have pulled their children from their newly started UK school just days after enrollment, citing security concerns tied to the commute, according to media reports.

The couple's private security detail raised concerns over the distance involved and heavy traffic along the school run route, the BBC reported Monday, citing a source close to the couple.

Separately, it has emerged that Prince Harry and Meghan will undergo a review of their publicly funded security arrangements following their relocation back to the UK. The committee responsible for overseeing royal and VIP protection, known as RAVEC, is expected to reassess the couple's police protection level now that they and their two children reside in Britain full-time rather than as occasional visitors.

The Duke of Sussex recently lost his appeal challenging an earlier ruling that dismissed his case over the level of UK police security he receives.

Harry and Meghan returned to Britain with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, in August — six years after the couple stepped back from their roles as senior working royals and relocated to California.

Earlier this month, a letter sent on behalf of King Charles by the lord chamberlain, a senior palace official, reaffirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be permitted to use the titles "His and Her Royal Highness" and will remain "private citizens."

The letter underscored that the arrangement reached in 2020 when the couple departed royal duties — the so-called Sandringham Agreement — remains firmly in place. That agreement explicitly ruled out any "half-in and half-out" arrangement, preventing the couple from pursuing independent commercial ventures while simultaneously serving as working members of the royal family.
