Airstrikes Hit Houthi Arms Depots in Yemen's Marib Province
(MENAFN) Airstrikes struck weapons depots belonging to Yemen's Houthi group in the central Marib province, Yemeni media reported Tuesday.
The pro-government outlet West Coast reported that the strikes hit Houthi arms depots in the Al-Jubah district, though it did not provide details on resulting casualties or damage.
In a separate incident in Marib, the outlet said Yemeni government forces thwarted a Houthi infiltration attempt in the Harib district.
Elsewhere, the media arm of the Taiz military command reported that warplanes struck a Houthi ballistic missile launch platform located at Taiz airport.
Local sources also reported that airstrikes targeted a gathering of Houthi leaders at the local council building in Khadir, east of Taiz.
The strikes come as fighting intensifies between Houthi forces and government-aligned troops. In recent weeks, airstrikes have repeatedly hit Houthi positions, reinforcements and missile-launch sites across Taiz province.
Yemen has been gripped by conflict since the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014 — a takeover that prompted a Saudi-led coalition to intervene in March 2015 in support of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
