Lebanese, Pakistani Ministers Review Regional Developments
(MENAFN) Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar held talks with Pakistan's foreign and interior ministers in Islamabad on Tuesday, focusing on regional developments, bilateral relations and cooperation between law-enforcement authorities.
During the meeting, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed Islamabad's interest in expanding cooperation with Lebanon, including in law enforcement and strengthening contacts between the two countries' populations, according to reports.
Dar also reiterated Pakistan's "steadfast" support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
The officials reviewed bilateral ties and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between their law-enforcement agencies. They also welcomed the signing of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, describing it as an important step in strengthening legal cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Hajjar praised Pakistan's "constructive" contribution to regional peace and stability. He also congratulated Islamabad on concluding a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Mecca.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi participated in the discussions as well.
Earlier in the day, Al-Hajjar met Naqvi separately for bilateral talks, which were followed by discussions involving delegations from both countries.
