James Lachlan Dwyer
- PhD Researcher in Human-Robot Interaction, Queensland University of Technology
James Dwyer is a designer and researcher at QUT who has recently submitted his PhD in human-robot interaction, examining robotic assistance in surgery and manufacturing. With a background in industrial design and psychology, he uses puppetry, bodystorming and collaborative making as ways of prototyping and thinking through robots. He previously completed an MPhil through the BMW Group + QUT Design Academy exploring advances in human-robot interaction, and has worked across QUT Design Lab projects in transport and health, including the HEAL project. He was creative team lead for the ARS Electronica Futurelab project, a finalist in the 2018 IxDA Awards.
