Germany To Allocate Additional EUR 1M For Safety Of Ukrainian Npps
The ministry added that Parliamentary State Secretary Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter is expected to announce the additional funding of 1 million euros on Tuesday at a conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
It is noted that to date, Germany has already allocated 7.3 million euros to support the IAEA's activities in Ukraine.
It is noted that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant-Europe's largest nuclear power plant, currently occupied by Russia-has been a source of serious concern regarding nuclear safety since the start of the war.
The plant has repeatedly come under drone attacks and lost its external power supply, forcing it to rely on emergency generators.
Schwarzelühr-Sutter is also expected to call for increased international support for efforts to repair the protective structure at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged in early 2025.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 7, Ukrainian energy officials restored operations on the“Ferosplavna-1” transmission line, which provides external power to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
