Government Approves Draft 2027 State Budget, Submits It To Verkhovna Rada - Koretskyi

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrinform reports this, citing Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi's post on Telegram.

“Our key task is to meet security and defense needs while maintaining financial stability. The draft budget allocates UAH 4 trillion 885 billion for defense alone. This is almost 44% of GDP. In addition, our partners provide us with material and technical assistance. This includes missiles, weapons, equipment, ammunition, strike capabilities, and more,” he said.

“We expect this assistance to amount to at least UAH 1 trillion, which is even more than this year. However, I want to emphasize that the needs of the Defense Forces for 2027 are significantly higher. The cost of the war is increasing. We are working to finalize the precise calculations,” the post says.

The government and all government agencies are working to identify sources of funding to cover these needs.

According to Serhii Koretskyi, Ukraine can cover only part of its expenditures with its own revenues. Therefore, responsible and coordinated work with partners is fundamental to funding the state budget and covering all necessary expenditures and needs - both military and social.

We are allocating UAH 328.5 billion for education and UAH 292.5 billion for healthcare. This is more than this year. Funding for social programs, support for veterans and internally displaced persons, and housing is also increasing. More resources are to be allocated to regions and municipalities for reconstruction, development, and improving people's quality of life.

All these parameters are reflected in the draft budget.

“Another important priority is to help the economy withstand the conditions of a drastic intensification of Russian attacks. We are allocating UAH 96 billion for business support programs - almost twice as much as this year. This includes affordable lending, grants, and support for defense innovations. We are also providing separate funding for war-risk insurance,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

“The document is already in the Verkhovna Rada today. All ministers and I personally are ready for a constructive dialogue with parliament, and we are counting on the support of lawmakers,” Serhii Koretskyi added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the President urged lawmakers to support seven bills scheduled for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada this week.
