Jak Kakhkharov

Dr. Jak Kakhkharov is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the Faculty of Law and Business at Australian Catholic University (ACU). Previously Dr. Jak Kakhkharov was a Lecturer in Finance at the College of Business, Government and Law, Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia and Associate Lecturer at the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics of Griffith University. Dr. Kakhkharov holds PhD degree in Finance from Griffith University, Australia and a Master's degree from Columbia University, New York, USA specialising in International Banking and Finance, and has done postgraduate research in Economics at University of Oxford, UK. His past work experience includes a number of consultancy projects with World Bank, UNDP, ADB, GIZ and staff positions with ABN AMRO Bank. Dr Kakhkharov's current research interests focus on the impact of remittances on socio-economic phenomena, energy, green transition, investments, financial management, FinTech, banking, corporate governance, and financial sector development in transition economies. Jak has published his research in a variety of academic journals including The World Economy, Economic Modelling, Pacific Basin Finance Journal, Empirical Economics, Energy, and International Migration.
