Zelensky Signs Decree Dismissing Kravchenko As Prosecutor General
“Dismiss Ruslan Andriiovych Kravchenko from the position of Prosecutor General,” the document says.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on September 15, the Verkhovna Rada gave its consent to the President of Ukraine dismissing Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General. The motion was supported by 317 members of parliament. The previous day, President Zelensky had suspended Kravchenko from the post of Prosecutor General.
Read also: Prosecutor General denies involvement in covering up illegal call centersEarlier on Monday, September 14, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, following his submission of a resignation letter on September 7 on September 7, said that he had signed a notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.
He is accused of falsifying official documents to obtain an especially large amount of undue benefit and of a sham adoption intended to artificially create grounds for avoiding liability in court.
Kravchenko later published the text of the notice of suspicion and case materials concerning Kryvonos. He also said that he had traveled abroad on a business trip.
On the evening of September 14, the Prosecutor General's Office denied reports that a notice of suspicion had allegedly been issued to National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Director Semen Kryvonos.
