13,000 Bird-Calling Devices Destroyed
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC)'s Land Protection Department, in co-operation with the Seashore Group for Recycling, has destroyed around 13,000 bird-calling devices (“sawwayat”) seized during inspection and monitoring campaigns in various wild areas across the country.
The operation is part of the ministry's efforts to combat unauthorised hunting practices and protect wildlife and biodiversity.
