Brazilian Football Club Hires Coach From Bahrain
Monsoon said on social media that Aref has more than 18 years of experience, having worked in football in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, coaching professional and youth teams. According to the club, he has won titles in the Bahraini League, the King's Cup, the Super Cup, and the FA Cup.
“Of course, I'm happy and proud to have this opportunity to come to Brazil and be part of Monsoon. Brazil is the country of football. I love Brazil and its players very much. This job is a great challenge. I come from Bahrain with enthusiasm and ambition. I will bring my experience and working methods to help Monsoon develop, improve its game, and achieve the goals of its supporters and management. I believe in this project,” the coach said in a video released by the club.
Monsoon will compete in Rio Grande do Sul's top football division for the third time in 2027, after winning the Campeonato Gaúcho Série A2 in 2024. The club is relatively new, having been founded in 2021. The Rio Grande do Sul press reported that Monsoon had Arab capital at the time of its founding, but that changed last year.
