DGFT To Launch Central Processing Department In Delhi For Faceless, Paperless Trade Processing
According to a DGFT office memorandum, the CPD will function as a central unit for processing trade-related applications and will be located in the central licensing area in Delhi, PTI reported.
The system is proposed to be dedicated to the nation during the second fortnight of October 2026, the memorandum said.
53 DGFT Officers Posted to CPD
The faceless trade facilitation system is designed to enable faceless, paperless and jurisdiction-free processing of trade applications, reducing processing time and improving transparency and ease of doing business.
As many as 53 DGFT officers from Delhi and its regional centres have been posted or transferred to the new department. The deployment includes five joint DGFTs, 10 deputy DGFTs and seven assistant DGFTs.
The CPD will serve as the central mechanism for processing applications under the proposed faceless system, marking a further shift towards streamlined digital administration of India's foreign trade procedures.
