Kabul, Bishkek Discuss Expanding Bilateral Ties
The two officials also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation between Bishkek and Kabul during a telephone conversation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement.
It said the Afghan foreign minister expressed Afghanistan's readiness to implement existing agreements between the two countries and establish new areas of cooperation.
He said relevant institutions supported comprehensive cooperation to implement joint projects and expand economic and trade relations.
Muttaqi described Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council as an important achievement and stressed the importance of joint cooperation and mutual support between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan in this regard.
The ministry noted that the two sides also discussed the exchange of high-level delegations, regular political engagement and further strengthening relations between the two countries.
Both sides stressed the need to further expand relations between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan and continue implementing existing agreements, the statement concluded.
