Qatar University And Qatar Lawyers Association Organize A Seminar To Qualify Legal Competencies For The Labor Market

Doha: Dr. Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Dean of the College of Law at Qatar University, affirmed that the rapid developments witnessed worldwide highlight the urgent need to develop legal education methods and expand partnerships with judicial institutions to ensure the efficient and competent service of justice.

Al-Kaabi stated, during a seminar entitled 'From Lecture Halls to Courtrooms: Practical Experiences in Legal Practice,' that the success of the college is measured by its ability to graduate students who combine solid academic knowledge with practical skills and professional commitment.

The seminar, organized by the College of Law in collaboration with the Qatar Bar Association, aims to prepare a new generation of legal competencies capable of meeting the demands of the labor market.

For his part, Mr. Mubarak bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatari Lawyers Association, emphasized the importance of the Association's role in supporting and qualifying national legal competencies.

The participants in the seminar discussed the challenges faced by new lawyers at the beginning of their careers and how to overcome them, in addition to reviewing the essential skills required, such as drafting, legal research, advocacy and persuasion skills, professional ethics, rules of client confidentiality, mechanisms for dealing with clients and building trust, along with methods for time management and handling daily work pressures in law firms and courts.
