Mastercard Moves Global Communications Business To We Communications

PURCHASE, NY - Mastercard has moved its global communications business to We. Communications following a nearly six-month competitive review, ending a relationship with Ketchum that spanned more than a decade.
We will initially support Mastercard at the enterprise level, with additional scope, regional expansion and workstreams expected to follow in phases.
The agency will support Mastercard's communications, storytelling and stakeholder engagement as the payments company focuses increasingly on areas including technology, AI and commerce.
Lindsey Bastani, head of We's technology sector, will oversee the account, leading a team spanning disciplines and the agency's global network.
“We have a talented communications team – people with strong instincts, deep knowledge of our business and a real commitment to telling stories that matter,” said Jen Erickson, Mastercard executive VP of communications.
“With We Communications, we're writing the next chapter, bringing fresh thinking and energy to engage with the people and businesses that rely on Mastercard every day around the world.”
Bastani said the account will include work around Mastercard's data and insights, agentic commerce and cybersecurity.
“We couldn't be more thrilled to partner with this iconic brand and incredible client team,” Bastani said.“The storytelling opportunity is extraordinary, from Mastercard's unique data and insight into how money moves around the world, to translating the complexity of agentic commerce and cybersecurity into human stories, to building understanding and belief with audiences from developers to the C-suite. It's exactly the kind of work we love to do.”
The loss is the latest blow to the former Ketchum client roster. Wendy's recently moved its North American communications business to Ruder Finn, ending another long-running Ketchum relationship.
Ketchum itself no longer operates as a standalone agency. Earlier this year, Omnicom merged Ketchum with Golin as part of a broader restructuring of its PR operations following its acquisition of Interpublic. The agencies completed their integration in June and now operate as Golin Ketchum, led by CEO Matt Neale and president Tamara Norman
