UAE Show Jumping Team Celebrates Multiple Wins and Podium Finishes at Sentower Park

The UAE Show Jumping Team concluded a successful international campaign at Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium, on Sunday, collecting multiple victories and podium finishes across four days of competition as preparations continue for the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
Competing across CSI3*, CSI1* and Young Horse classes from 9 to 13 September, UAE riders were among the leading combinations throughout the weekend, with Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi, Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi, Mohammad Saeed Al Ghurair and Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi all recording victories.
The strong run began on Thursday when Omar and Biarritz Z took the top spot in the international class for seven and eight-year-old horses. The combination led a strong UAE showing from a field of 79, with Salim and SS Ourania also finishing third.
Humaid and Villon WH added another podium finish in the six-year-old division, producing a faultless performance to finish second.
The UAE stepped up another gear on Friday, when Humaid claimed two victories and Emirati combinations filled all three podium positions in the Young Horse competition for seven and eight-year-olds.
Riding Argentina de Kreisker Z, Humaid topped a field of 76 combinations with a clear round in 52.29 seconds. Salim and SS Ourania followed in second, also clear in 55.71 seconds, while Omar completed an all-UAE podium aboard Osenia, finishing fault-free in 56.42 seconds.
Humaid completed his Friday double with Villon WH in the six-year-old 1.20m Two Phase competition, producing the fastest second phase in 30.58 seconds. Omar also secured seventh place aboard Come See Ask Litth, jumping clear in the second phase in 36.85 seconds.
Seventeen-year-old Mohammad Saeed Al Ghurair continued the impressive international form he demonstrated at the FEI World Championships in Aachen last month, collecting three top-four results across Friday and Saturday.
Mohammad and Dark Satisfaction PS secured third place in Friday''s CSI3* 1.35m Two Phase competition, completing the second phase in 29.14 seconds from a field of 34 combinations.
He also finished fourth aboard Ikaros in Friday''s CSI1* 1.30m class, jumping clear in 59.46 seconds, before returning with the same horse on Saturday to claim victory.
Taking on a field of 51 in Saturday''s CSI1* 1.35m competition, Mohammad and Ikaros were among 24 combinations to progress to the jump-off. Ten completed the jump-off without fault, with Mohammad producing the fastest round in 32.90 seconds to take the win ahead of Great Britain''s Olivia Sponer and Crazy Girl in 33.36 seconds.
The UAE''s winning form continued into the final day of competition, when Salim and Pablo Escobar KJV claimed Sunday''s CSIYH1* six-year-old 1.25m Two Phase Special.
The combination produced a faultless performance across both phases, completing the first in 36.03 seconds before stopping the clock at 34.91 seconds in the second phase to top a field of 37 young horses.
The Sentower Park campaign followed another strong international outing for the UAE team at CSI4* Münster in Germany the previous weekend, where three UAE combinations finished inside the top 10 of the Grand Prix.
Salim and Flonflon finished fifth with one time fault, immediately followed by Humaid and Foncetti vd Heffinck in sixth, also on one time fault. Omar and BBS McGregor finished ninth with four faults, having already placed fourth in the Grand Prix qualifier. Omar also secured second place in the night class aboard Chacco Bay.
The team''s younger horses also impressed in Münster, with Omar and Biarritz Z finishing fourth in the eight-year-old final following a clear performance, while Humaid and Argentina de Kreisker Z finished ninth on four faults.
The back-to-back international fixtures in Germany and Belgium form part of the UAE Show Jumping Team''s preparations for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, where show jumping competition will take place from 1 to 4 October.
The UAE heads to Japan looking to build on its performance at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, where the nation secured team bronze and Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi claimed individual silver.
