Kremlin Declines To Comment On Possibility Of Halting Attacks On Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure If Strikes On Oil Refineries Stop
"I will not answer you," Peskov said when asked whether Russia would stop attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure if Kyiv stopped striking Russian oil refineries.
At the same time, he said that "any call for the Kyiv regime to stop strikes against Russia's civilian economic infrastructure can only be welcomed." He also supported the claim that the Russian ban on petroleum-product exports has a "significant" impact on the global market.
"For now, we see that the situation in the oil markets is generally deteriorating. It is deteriorating rapidly," Peskov emphasized.

Since the beginning of 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have attacked Russian oil refineries more than 70 times, disabling several dozen facilities. As a result, oil refining in Russia has fallen to its lowest level since 2002.
As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday called on Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries amid a sharp rise in diesel fuel prices worldwide.
