Airstrikes Slam Houthi Depots, Foil Infiltration Bid in Yemen
(MENAFN) Yemeni media reported Tuesday that airstrikes struck weapons depots belonging to the Houthi group in the central province of Marib.
The pro-government outlet West Coast said the strikes targeted Houthi arms depots in the Al-Jubah district, though it offered no details on resulting casualties or damage.
In a related development elsewhere in Marib, the same outlet reported that Yemeni government forces repelled an attempted Houthi infiltration in the Harib district.
Separately, the media wing of the Taiz military command reported that warplanes struck a Houthi ballistic missile launch platform located at Taiz airport.
Local sources further reported strikes targeting a gathering of Houthi leaders at the local council building in Khadir, east of Taiz.
The latest wave of strikes unfolds against a backdrop of intensifying clashes between Houthi forces and those aligned with the government. In recent weeks, airstrikes have repeatedly hit Houthi positions, reinforcement convoys, and missile-launching sites across Taiz province.
Yemen has remained locked in conflict since the Houthis captured the capital, Sanaa, in 2014 — a takeover that prompted a Saudi-led coalition to intervene militarily in March 2015 in support of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
