Egypt And Germany Stress Need For Greater Regional De-Escalation Efforts


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Top diplomats of Egypt and Germany stressed the need to step up efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, as well as the importance of safeguarding maritime security in the Red Sea and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international trade in accordance with international law and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

During a phone conversation on Tuesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to advance diplomatic solutions, prevent the conflict from spreading across the region and contain tensions to restore regional security and stability, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

On bilateral relations, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and welcomed the significant progress in Egyptian-German relations in recent years across various fields.
