Russia Multiplies Investments In Azerbaijan's Economy By Over 80% In 1H2026
This was reflected in a report from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Trend 's calculations based on the CBA data show that this figure increased by $107.4 million compared to the same period of 2025.
According to the CBA, Azerbaijan invested $22.5 million in the Russian economy during the first half of 2026, a decrease of $5.8 million (or 20.5%) compared to the same period of the previous year. The information stressed that investments from Azerbaijan accounted for 0.4% of the total volume of foreign direct investments directed into Russia.
According to the bank's calculations, the total volume of direct investment from Russia to Azerbaijan during the first half of 2026 amounted to $129.7 million, while the flow in the opposite direction totaled $28.3 million.
According to the bank, the volume of foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan's economy exceeded $3.667 billion in the first half of the current year; this represents an increase of $444 million, or 13.8%, compared to the figure for the first half of 2025.
During the reporting year, the volume of foreign direct investments from Azerbaijan into foreign economies totaled $5 billion-an increase of $3.65 billion, or 3.7 times, compared to the same period in 2025.
