Israeli Attack Kills Palestinian in Gaza Despite Ceasefire

(MENAFN) An Israeli airstrike killed one Palestinian and wounded two others in Gaza City on Tuesday, marking the latest breach of an ongoing ceasefire agreement, a medical source reported.

The casualties resulted from an Israeli drone strike that targeted pedestrians in the Sheikh Ajleen area southwest of Gaza City, the source said.

Witnesses also reported Israeli artillery shelling in the northeastern sections of Gaza City and areas east of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Separately, Israeli military vehicles positioned behind the so-called "yellow line" opened heavy fire on areas east of Deir al-Balah and the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, as well as territory east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the strip.

Additional shelling was reported off the coastlines of Gaza City and Khan Younis.

Figures from Gaza's Health Ministry show that Israeli ceasefire violations since October 2025 have killed 1,372 Palestinians and injured 4,659 others.

Since Oct. 8, 2023, Israel's military campaign in Gaza has killed nearly 74,000 Palestinians and injured more than 174,000, while destroying an estimated 90% of the territory's infrastructure.
