Israeli Strike Kills Palestinian in Gaza Amid Continuing Ceasefire Violations
(MENAFN) An Israeli drone strike killed a Palestinian and injured two others in Gaza City on Tuesday, according to a medical source, in another reported incident amid an ongoing ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The casualties occurred in the Sheikh Ajleen area southwest of Gaza City after a drone targeted people in the area, the source said. The incident was followed by additional Israeli military activity in several parts of the enclave.
Witnesses reported Israeli artillery fire in northeastern areas of Gaza City and near the eastern part of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Heavy gunfire was also reported from Israeli military vehicles positioned behind the so-called “yellow line,” targeting areas east of Deir al-Balah and Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, as well as locations east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Additional shelling was reported in waters off the Gaza City and Khan Younis coastlines, according to reports, adding to the latest series of incidents reported since the ceasefire came into effect.
Figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry show that Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement since October 2025 have killed 1,372 Palestinians and injured another 4,659.
Since Oct. 8, 2023, nearly 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 174,000 injured in Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, according to the ministry. The prolonged conflict has also caused extensive destruction across the enclave, with around 90% of its infrastructure reported to have been destroyed or damaged.
