Road Incident in Ukraine Claims Life of British Soldier
(MENAFN) A member of the British Armed Forces has died in Ukraine following a road traffic incident over the weekend, according to the UK Defense Ministry.
"It is with deep regret that we must announce that a member of the UK Armed Forces died in a road traffic incident in Ukraine on Saturday 12 September," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry confirmed that the soldier's family has been notified and said they have asked for a period of privacy before additional information about the incident or the service member is made public.
"Our thoughts and our sympathies are with the individual's loved ones at this difficult time," the ministry added.
The death follows another fatal incident involving a British soldier in Ukraine last December. At the time, the Defense Ministry described the death as a "tragic accident" that occurred away from the front lines.
