Israeli Strike Hits MSF Bus in Gaza City, Injures Staffer
(MENAFN) An Israeli airstrike damaged a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) bus in Gaza City on Saturday, wounding one aid worker, the medical charity reported Monday.
MSF said the bus was transporting 10 humanitarian staff when a strike hit a separate targeted vehicle just two meters (6.5 feet) away on Sept. 13. The organization emphasized that the bus was clearly marked, bearing a large MSF logo visible on its roof.
"Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel," MSF said.
The charity warned that no location in Gaza remains safe and called for civilians, health care workers, and humanitarian staff to be protected from further harm. It also urged that clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles be spared from attack.
As of Monday, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement had killed 1,372 Palestinians and injured 4,659 others, according to the latest figures from Gaza's Health Ministry.
