Palestinian Killed During Israeli Raid in West Bank City

(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces during a military raid in the occupied West Bank city of Al-Bireh on Tuesday, according to Palestinian authorities.

Ziad Mohammed Jaber, 54, was fatally wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. The ministry reported that he succumbed to injuries sustained during the operation.

Residents said Israeli special forces entered Jaber’s home in the neighborhood before opening fire on him. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society had earlier reported that a Palestinian man was critically injured after being shot in the abdomen and thigh.

The incident comes amid continued Israeli military operations across the occupied West Bank, where forces frequently conduct raids in cities, towns and refugee camps. Such operations often involve searches of homes, arrests and the use of live fire.

Tensions across the West Bank have remained high since the outbreak of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, with Israeli military raids and Palestinian casualties continuing to be reported in different parts of the territory.
