Israeli Forces Fatally Shoot Palestinian Man in West Bank
(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces during a military raid Tuesday in Al-Bireh, a city in the occupied West Bank, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry identified the victim as Ziad Mohammed Jaber, 54, who died from Israeli gunfire in the city's Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood.
Local residents said Israeli special forces stormed Jaber's home in the neighborhood before opening fire on him. Earlier reports from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society indicated that a Palestinian had sustained critical wounds to the abdomen and thigh from Israeli fire.
Raids by Israeli forces have become a near-daily occurrence across West Bank cities, towns and refugee camps, typically involving home searches, arrests and gunfire. Such operations have intensified amid escalating tensions since Israel's war on the Gaza Strip began in October 2023.
