Deputy PM Lays Stone For Sheikh Tamim Innovation Centre At Sandhurst
The establishment of the centre embodies the depth of the strategic partnership and the distinguished defence relations between Qatar and Britain. It also represents a qualitative addition to the educational and training environment at the academy, through supporting innovation and developing the cognitive and academic capabilities of students and military personnel.
The deputy prime minister and the accompanying delegation were received at the academy by its commander, Brigadier Nick Cowley.
During the visit, discussions were held on avenues for military co-operation between the two countries, as well as means of enhancing collaboration in the fields of academic qualification and training, alongside a number of topics of mutual blade-->
The foundation stone was laid with the participation of the Commander of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Brigadier Nick Cowley, and in the presence of Britain's Minister for Veterans Lord Ben Wallace and Chief of the General Staff of the British Army General Sir Roland Walker.
The deputy prime minister and the accompanying delegation also met Qatari officer candidates and students studying at the academy.
The visit and the foundation stone-laying ceremony were attended by Ambassador of Qatar to Britain His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud al-Thani, along with a number of senior officers and officials from both the Qatari and British sides.
