Russia Experimenting With FPV Drones Deployed From Shaheds, Ukraine Says

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, Yurii Ihnat, head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this during a television broadcast.

“The enemy has already experimentally used FPV drones on the same Shaheds. In principle, there is already video that has been posted on social media. I would not say that this is currently being used on a large scale, or how useful it will be for the enemy,” Ihnat said.

He noted that Russia is constantly improving its Shaheds and Gerberas and upgrading their communications, navigation, and electronic warfare systems.

“Essentially, we need to keep up with the times in order to neutralize these new threats, including the enemy's use of FPV drones that can be carried on the same Shaheds,” Ihnat said.

It was reported that information had circulated on social media claiming that Russian forces had begun using Shaheds as carriers for FPV drones, delivering them deep into Ukrainian territory. In particular, reports referred to the use of this tactic in the Kyiv region.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 4, Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash), an unofficial adviser to the President, said that no evidence had been found over three days that FPV drones were being deployed from jet-powered Shaheds during Russian attacks on Kyiv.
