Grupo In Press Completes Acquisition Of Golin Ketchum Brazil
(MENAFN- PRovoke)
SÃO PAULO - Grupo In Press has completed its acquisition of a 60% stake in Golin Ketchum Brazil from Omnicom, giving the Brazilian communications group majority control of the agency.
The deal, which was reported in August, leaves Omnicom with a 40% stake in Golin Ketchum Brazil. The transaction had been awaiting approval from Brazilian competition regulator CADE.
The acquisition comes amid a broader restructuring of Omnicom's PR holdings in Brazil following its acquisition of Interpublic. Last month, Omnicom agreed to sell Brazilian PR agency CDN Comunicação, returning majority ownership of that business to a management-led Brazilian investor group.
Omnicom also has a longstanding relationship with Grupo In Press, having acquired a 40% stake in the Brazilian group in 2014.
Golin Ketchum was created earlier this year as part of Omnicom's post-IPG consolidation of its PR agencies. Golin and Ketchum completed their integration under the Golin Ketchum name in June, with Matt Neale as CEO and Tamara Norman as president.
In Brazil, Caio Bamberg remains CEO of Golin Ketchum, according to earlier reports.
The addition brings Grupo In Press to eight agencies and more than 650 employees serving more than 250 clients, according to Juliana Damigue, the group's executive director of business and marketing, who announced the completion of the deal Monday on LinkedIn.
Along with Golin Ketchum, the group operates InPress Porter Novelli, FleishmanHillard Brazil, Brodeur Partners Brazil, Critical Mass, The Buzz Now, Athos Public Affairs and VBrand.
