Shaheds May Use Belarusian LTE Networks To Transmit Data On Electronic Warfare - 'Flash'
"If we look at the movement of jet-powered and conventional 'Shaheds,' they stay close to the border with Belarus. And I came to the conclusion that the 'Shaheds' probably have connectivity to Belarusian commercial LTE networks," he said.
According to Beskrestnov, Russian drones are equipped with two LTE modems, external antennas, and SIM cards from Russian mobile operators. He claims that these SIM cards have roaming access in Belarus.
"The 'Shahed' is not controlled online; it transmits information, its telemetry data - where it detects electronic warfare and where it does not. This is also important for Russia: they use this to build corridors, and they analyze how their 'Shaheds' are flying," Beskrestnov explained.

At the same time, he cautioned against equating commercial mobile networks with military repeaters, which had previously been discussed in the context of controlling Russian drones.
Beskrestnov noted that the use of Belarusian mobile networks by Russian "Shaheds" does not mean that the drones are launched from or directly controlled from Belarusian territory.
As Ukrinform reported, Beskrestnov, the President's freelance adviser on technological issues and a technology expert, previously stated that Russia is modernizing the inertial navigation system on Shahed-type attack drones in order to minimize the impact of Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.
