Eritrea: Vocational Training For Students In Barentu Sub-Zone

A four-month vocational training program has been provided to 480 students in Barentu sub-zone.

The training covered basic computer applications, first aid, beauty salon services, painting, drama, and cosmetics.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on 10 September, Mr. Furtunato Mohammed-Saleh, head of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students in Barentu sub-zone, noted that acquiring skills at a young age can have a significant influence on later life. He commended the students for the interest they demonstrated throughout the program.

Noting that awareness and organization are key to success, Mr. Bekit Adm, head of projects at the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students in the Gash Barka Region, called for similar vocational training programs to be organized for the youth in the administrative areas of the sub-zone.

Mr. Tesfa'alem Bahta, administrator of Barentu sub-zone, commended the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students for its efforts to enhance young people's vocational skills and called on local administrations and partners to support the initiative.
