Afghan Wushu Team Leaves For Japan For Asian Games
In a statement, the committee said the team comprises four athletes, two coaches and one team official.
Mawlavi Ahmadullah Wasiq, director-general of Physical Education and Sports, welcomed Afghanistan's participation in the major Asian sporting event and described it as an important step towards promoting sports in the country.
Wasiq expressed hope that Afghan athletes would achieve good results at the Games, given their regular training and preparations.
According to the committee, 34 Afghan athletes are scheduled to compete in nine different sports at the 20th Asian Games.
The committee said the Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, with athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 41 sports.
