Two Public Employees Remanded In Custody On Corruption Charges
Amman, Sept. 14 (Petra) -- The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Prosecutor on Monday remanded in custody two public employees on separate corruption charges.
One employee, who worked for the Madaba Municipality, was ordered detained for 15 days at Marka Reform and Rehabilitation Center, pending an investigation on charges of forgery, unlawful use of a public administration seal, and wasting public funds.
The second, an employee at Aqaba Company for Ports Operation & Management (ِACPOM), was remanded in custody for seven days, pending an investigation, at the Marka Reform and Rehabilitation Center. He faces charges of obtaining a benefit from an administrative transaction and fraud.
The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission has previously referred the two suspects to the Public Prosecution.
