Michael Nadorff is a Professor of Psychology at Mississippi State University, where he directs MSU Behavioral Health, a clinic he built to bring substance use and mental health care to rural and underserved parts of Mississippi. His research examines the link between sleep problems and suicide, the treatment of chronic nightmares, and how evidence-based care can actually reach the communities that need it most. Much of his recent work centers on suicide prevention and opioid response across rural Mississippi.

He directed Mississippi State's Clinical Psychology PhD program for a decade and is a licensed clinical psychologist who still sees patients. He also holds an adjunct appointment at Baylor College of Medicine, serves as an associate editor for several journals in suicidology and sleep medicine, and has trained thousands of Mississippians in suicide prevention and postvention through a long-standing partnership with the state Department of Mental Health.
