Israeli Forces Detain Activist, Palestinians in West Bank Raids
(MENAFN) Israeli forces arrested two Palestinians and detained a foreign solidarity activist during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to reports.
The foreign activist was detained at a checkpoint near Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, where Israeli forces also confiscated his vehicle. His whereabouts and condition were not immediately known.
The military further tightened controls at the checkpoint, resulting in significant traffic congestion and restricting residents’ ability to move through the area.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces carried out a raid in Al-Tabaqa village, south of Hebron, and arrested a Palestinian during the operation.
Forces also entered Kafr Ein, northwest of Ramallah, where they fired live ammunition. No injuries were reported.
Separately, Israeli troops arrested former prisoner Shahid Mustafa Youssef Maatan, 23, while he was working at a private school in the village of Rammun.
Around occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli military vehicles moved into Anata and were deployed along several streets and residential areas.
