Tlaib Calls for US to End Support for Israeli Military Actions in Gaza

(MENAFN) US Rep. Rashida Tlaib has urged Washington to stop what she described as its "complicity" in Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip, following reports of an attack involving a preschool facility.

Tlaib, a Democratic representative from Michigan, said Sunday that the situation in Gaza remained unchanged despite the existence of a ceasefire agreement.

"The genocide is still happening. There was never a ceasefire," Tlaib wrote on X.

She argued that children continue to face severe consequences from Israel’s military campaign, saying minors remain among those most affected by the violence.

Tlaib said children are "being killed with American made bombs, and those that live are traumatized forever."

She called on the US administration to take action against Israel, saying it "must end its complicity in these atrocious acts of ethnic cleansing."

The comments accompanied footage reportedly showing Israeli forces entering a kindergarten in Gaza while around 200 children were trapped inside amid ongoing gunfire.

The conflict has caused extensive civilian casualties and widespread damage across Gaza. More than 73,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed and over 174,000 injured since the start of Israel’s military campaign.

Meanwhile, Palestinian authorities say continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire that began Oct. 10, 2025, have resulted in the deaths of 1,369 Palestinians and injuries to another 4,627 as of Saturday.
